Are applied in manufacturing of various products and materials that are stable in oxidizing and gas environments at high temperatures.

Siliconized graphites represent a product of high-temperature processing of various types of artificial graphites with melted silicon. Siliconized graphite is an erosion- and corrosion-proof material consisting of silicon carbide and carbon (graphite). The silicon carbide gives to the siliconized graphite high high-temperature strength and heat resistance, and the graphite ensures high stability to repeated heat changes.

The brand of the siliconized graphite is determined by an initial brand of the graphite material which has undergone siliconization.

The siliconized graphite is characterized with rather high a stability to the influence of various agressive environments: the concentrated boiling acids, solutions of alkalis and salts.

 The OJSC “ChEZ” makes products of the following brands of the siliconized graphite.

1. Details from the siliconized graphite of the brands СГ-М, СГ-Т, СГ-П under the TU 48-20-89-90.

Are used as friction pairs in axial, radial bearings and end seals functioning in aggressive liquid environments and containing abrasive particles.

Is applied to manufacture:

- Nozzles on hydrocyclones;

- Various products (including those for refractory lining), materials stable in oxidizing and gaseous environments at high temperatures;

- Forms stable to the action of melting glass;

- Crucibles and containers for the melting and transportation of melted metals.

The siliconized graphite can be used as protection tubes of immersion-type thermocouples at temperatures of up to + 1600°С.

2. Details of friction pairs made of alumosilicon carbide graphite of the brands ГАКК-55/40, ГАКК -60/25 under the TU 48-20-114-81. Are used as friction pairs of end seals and bearings working in neutral liquids (petroleum, inactive oils, water), and in liquids with the increased chemical activity (mineral acids, alkali, salt(salt), oil ВНИИНП-7) at temperatures from - 60 up to + 450°С.

3. Products made of boron-siliconized graphite of the brands БСГ-30 and БСГ-60 [TU 48-20-72-90]. Are applied in the manufacture of crucibles, heaters, stoppers, glasses, pipes and other details of installations for continuous moulding of metals and their alloys; impellers for mixing molten masses; refractor lining of furnaces, burner nozzles and gas-fired burners, forms for teeming of metals; friction pairs in units of bearings and end seals, and as protective elements from hydroabrasive and corrosive actions of aggressive environments; immersion-type thermocouples for liquid pig-iron and slag. They stand up to 120 thermal cyclings at temperatures from 20 up to 600°С and are practically not wettable with molten metals.

The products made of siliconized graphite are one of major production lines of the Chelyabinsk electrode factory. On an arrangement with the customer, the graphite products can be made of various forms and sizes.
